The Strategy:
Knowing what we do about SEO and how vital it is to gaining strength with Google, we were very intentional about our choice of MLS feed provider.
A little inside information: Most MLS feed providers do NOT pass search result strength on to the receiving real estate website. Many still provide iframe feeds that Google recommends against and does not generally read or index. (see Google Web Developer Best Practices).
Bottom line; your choice of MLS feed provider can either bring you a ton of traffic, because every listing is already keyword rich with titles, descriptions and metadata, or it can slow your organic growth to a crawl if it’s not the correct type of feed.
Our Realtor websites are built on the WordPress platform (for SEO strength) and we partner with Showcase IDX to deliver MLS search results that our websites DO get indexed for.

Additional Project Details:
To fully take advantage of the MLS feed as a way to index more content, we set up multiple “favorite search” pages with display parameters that matched our keyword blueprint, optimized the rest of the site with cornerstone content (SEO copywriting) and added appropriate, lead generating calls-to-action (CTAs).
Two months later, the website is coming up in search results, gaining search strength, and bringing in new leads for our client.
